Job summary

Socket.dev seeks a Sr. Systems Engineer (MBSE) to lead model-based engineering for DoD intelligence, EW, and cyber systems in Maryland. You will develop DoDAF artifacts, enforce MOSA/SOSA/CMOSS standards, and shape roadmaps for next-generation C5ISR capabilities.

You will mentor engineers, interface with government program offices and defense contractors, and drive architecture governance with SysML-based methods and digital engineering tools.

Qualifications

• Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility (required).
• Master's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• 10+ years of systems engineering experience with complex DoD systems.
• Experience leading MBSE initiatives using SysML tools (Cameo, MagicDraw, or similar).
• Proven experience developing DoDAF products (OV, SV, TV) for ACAT programs or major system acquisitions.
• Strong understanding of MOSA, SOSA, and CMOSS open architecture standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead MBSE methodology implementation using SysML and digital engineering tools.
• Develop and maintain DoDAF operational viewpoints and system viewpoints to support capability analysis.
• Establish MOSA, SOSA, and CMOSS compliance across hardware and software architectures.
• Create and maintain product roadmaps identifying technology gaps and improvements (P3I).
• Perform requirements analysis, architecture trade studies, and capability mapping across systems.
• Lead technical baseline reviews, ERBs, and architecture governance activities.
• Support modernization initiatives in SIGINT/EW and open architectures.
• Coordinate with cybersecurity, software engineering, AI/ML, and test & evaluation teams.
• Develop technical documentation including ICDs and system architecture documents.
• Mentor junior systems engineers and provide technical guidance.
