Job summary

UNC Health Care System in Raleigh, NC seeks a skilled Maternal-Fetal Medicine ultrasound technologist to independently operate diagnostic equipment and perform complex OB/GYN imaging. The role focuses on fetal echocardiography, detailed anatomy, growth assessments, and high-risk obstetric imaging under radiologist supervision.

Qualifications include ARDMS OB/OG and FE, a CAAHEP-accredited education, BLS, and at least two years of MFM experience.

Qualifications

• Completion of a CAAHEP-accredited program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography / General Ultrasound, or equivalent certificate.
• ARDMS registration in OB and OB-GYN and Fetal Echocardiography (FE).
• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.
• Two years of experience in Maternal-Fetal Medicine.

Responsibilities

• Assists radiologist with invasive procedures as needed and provides training to residents.
• Performs maternal-fetal ultrasound examinations including detailed anatomy, fetal echocardiography, growth, and wellbeing assessments.
• Documents data and communicates results to radiologist and OB providers.
• Evaluates contraindications and ensures patient preparation for procedures.
• Images and records Doppler signals and fetal anatomy for interpretation.
