Job summary

UNC Faculty Physicians in Raleigh conducts advanced maternal-fetal medicine imaging and ultrasound services across multiple clinical locations. The sonographer role involves independent operation of diagnostic equipment for high-risk obstetric imaging, including fetal echocardiography and 3D/4D techniques.

Requires ARDMS OB/OBGYN, a CAAHEP-accredited ultrasound program, and two years in MFM. Benefits include medical, retirement, PTO, and career ladder opportunities.

Qualifications

• CAAHEP-accredited program completion required.
• ARDMS certification in OB/OBGYN and Fetal Echocardiography preferred.
• Two years of experience in Maternal-Fetal Medicine recommended.

Responsibilities

• Operate diagnostic ultrasound equipment for OB/MFM exams.
• Assist radiologists with specialized procedures.
• Provide patient prep and contraindication screening.
• Document findings and communicate results to physicians.
• Support residency training and standardization of exams.
