Job summary

UNC Health Care in Chapel Hill, NC seeks an experienced ultrasound technologist specializing in maternal‑fetal medicine to operate diagnostic equipment and deliver expert imaging for high‑risk pregnancies.

You will work under radiologist supervision, perform complex OB scans, and provide guidance in interpretation and procedural support, contributing to comprehensive prenatal care and fetal assessment.

Qualifications

• Completion of a CAAHEP-accredited education program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography/General Ultrasound.
• ARDMS registration in OB, OB-GYN and Fetal Echocardiography (FE).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers.

Responsibilities

• Perform maternal‑fetal ultrasound examinations including detailed anatomy, growth and fetal wellbeing assessments.
• Assist radiologist with invasive procedures and provide training to residents on these exams.
• Communicate results to radiologist and obstetric providers with preliminary evaluations.
• Ensure proper documentation of patient data and imaging for interpretation.

Education

CAAHEP-accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program

ARDMS Registered in OB and OB-GYN and Fetal Echocardiography (FE)
