Job summary

Bayer in Myerstown, Pennsylvania seeks a Senior Material Handler to manage day-to-day warehouse activities—receiving, storing and shipping products while ensuring safety and accuracy. You'll work with SAP/MES, operate forklifts, and maintain documentation per GMP/SOP guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Demonstrated ability to read/interpret/follow instructions in SOPs/Work Instructions.
• Proficient computer skills; Microsoft software; Lotus Notes experience preferred.
• Experience using automated inventory systems (e.g., SAP, MES).
• Experience using motorized and non-motorized material handling equipment.
• Must be able to operate a forklift; forktruck certification and experience.
• Experience in GMP or SOP environments; warehouse experience.
• Able to perform basic math and use the metric system.
• Must hold a valid driver’s license; willing to work overtime.

Responsibilities

• Focuses on day-to-day warehouse activities: receiving, storing, and shipping products.
• Ensure safe work environment by following safety rules and SOPs; maintain clean work area.
• Transport materials between buildings and off-site locations.
• Maintain accuracy of the Drop Trailer Log and related paperwork.
• Communicate with distribution centers and transportation companies.
• Responsible for fleet maintenance.
• Meet production demands by following site-wide production schedule.
• Operate forklift and related attachments.
• Operate warehouse equipment and perform material movement per SOPs.
• Inspect materials for damage, ensure correct counts, and ensure cleanliness per cGMPs.
• Complete and update documentation for material movement (electronic and paper).
• Pick orders of raw and packaging materials for production.
• Review teammate paperwork as needed.
• Transfer materials with company vehicles on site; support interplant trips.
• Support QA (Sample Rooms and retesting).
• Pull materials for Write Offs; Load landfill/recycling trailers.
• Handle hazardous/sensitive materials appropriately.
• Attach photos and complete safety/quality observations and trainings.
• Submit work orders to maintain equipment and racks.
• Coordinate with external contractors and vendors as directed.
• Foster team culture and continuous improvements; train teammates.
