The Virginia Department of Transportation is seeking an Engineering Technician to perform materials sampling and testing on projects and in the laboratory, inspect plants and project sites, and report findings. You will maintain and operate testing equipment and provide engineering technical support to the program area.

You will communicate with VDOT staff and external partners, apply testing methods per VDOT and industry standards, document results, and assist field staff with testing

Competenze

• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Ability to work with and train others.
• Knowledge of highway construction and materials.
• Knowledge of materials testing procedures.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Materials certifications vary by position; ability to obtain certifications within 12 months.
