Job summary

Colorado Department of Transportation is seeking a Head Materials Technician (Engineering/Physical Science Tech I) to support contract administration, perform field material tests, and supervise supplemental inspection duties to ensure compliance with project plans and specifications.

You will maintain testing records, coordinate with contractors and consultants, and ensure proper calibration and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in an occupational field related to the work assigned, such as materials testing or construction inspection.

Responsibilities

• Certify final materials documentation meets specs by checking summary sheets and certifications of compliance.
• Compile records of materials used in highway construction from contractor documents and CDOT forms.
• Monitor quality and quantity of testing and documentation; ensure consultants and CDOT staff complete records.
