Job summary

Corning Inc. is seeking a Materials Technician to provide technical laboratory support for materials testing and process development.

You will handle sample preparation, operate testing equipment, run high-temperature experiments, collect data, and maintain safety standards in collaboration with engineering teams. You will work with metals, ceramics, and glass in a lab environment, prepare samples, report results to internal customers, and help advance material capabilities across Corning’s

Qualifications

• Minimum AAS in Technical or Science major.
• 12–15 years of experience in a laboratory or manufacturing support role.

Responsibilities

• Work with engineering staff and fellow technicians to complete metals, refractory, glass and ceramic testing in a lab environment to support materials and manufacturing development.
• Prepare batch, glass and refractory samples for testing and analysis.
• Hands-on support to conduct high temperature testing.
• Perform raw material characterization and testing.
• Operate equipment necessary to support sample preparation and measurement.
• Collect experimental data, maintain organized records, interpret and report results to internal customers and engineers.
• Support lab safety programs to provide a safe working environment.
