Job summary

Amcor is seeking a senior materials leader to drive research and development of next-generation resins, barriers, and additives, with a focus on sustainable materials and increased PCR usage. You will collaborate with internal and external partners to guide material science solutions that enable more sustainable products in the market.

The role requires 8–10+ years in materials science, a Master’s or PhD, and knowledge across PET/PP/HDPE; travel up to 10% is expected.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD preferred in materials-related discipline.
• 8-10+ years of relevant experience plus a degree in materials science, engineering, or equivalent.
• Proficient in material science and impact on injection/blow molding processes.
• Proficient knowledge of PET, PP, HDPE and basic knowledge of alternative materials.
• Experience with plastics conversion technologies (extrusion, injection molding, blow molding, ISBM).
• Willingness to travel 10%.

Responsibilities

• Lead research and decision making on new resin solutions and alternatives.
• Drive innovation and technology scouting in sustainability—materials arena.
• Serve as internal expert on PCR usage and increasing PCR in products.
• Maintain timelines and budgets for material development programs.
• Provide technical guidance to engineering, manufacturing and other stakeholders.
• Oversee resin trials and material selection activities.
• Specify and approve lab work and resin configurations.
