Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in materials/ metallurgical engineering or related field required.
• Graduate degree or equivalent with 0–2 years of related experience, or 6+ years with no degree.

Responsibilities

• Support evaluation and selection of metallic materials (titanium, nickel-based superalloys, stainless steels, high-strength steels, aluminum) for missile components.
• Assist in developing, reviewing, and optimizing manufacturing processes for metallic components (machining, welding, heat treatment, forming, surface treatment).
• Support NCR dispositions by collecting, evaluating, and documenting material property data.
• Support failure analysis and root cause investigations on non-conforming materials and hardware.
• Review and interpret material specifications (AMS, ASTM, MIL‑SPEC) for compliant material usage.
• Prepare and maintain process specifications, work instructions, and engineering documentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure material and process solutions meet requirements.
• Evaluate data validity and compliance with specifications, addressing issues.
• Prepare technical reports, data packages, and process documentation.
