Job summary

Sundt Construction is seeking an experienced Materials Manager to support field operations by overseeing receiving, storage, tracking, and distribution of materials and equipment. The role ensures alignment with project schedules, quality standards, and safety requirements, while coordinating with procurement and field leadership.

The position requires 5+ years in warehouse/logistics, supervisory experience, and strong knowledge of inventory control.

Qualifications

• Experience with material management or inventory tracking software systems.
• Familiarity with equipment maintenance and preventive maintenance programs preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum 5 years in warehouse, logistics, or construction material management, with supervisory experience; or verifiable Material Manager experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Strong knowledge of inventory control systems and material handling practices.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of construction processes, material specs, and project scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and plan material needs with procurement, vendors, and project leadership.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and OS&D tracking.
• Oversee timely distribution of materials to field operations.
• Implement and manage material management software systems.
• Oversee receipt, inspection, and documentation of incoming materials.
• Ensure preventive maintenance programs are executed for equipment.
• Identify process improvements for material handling and logistics.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies, OSHA regulations, and project requirements.
• Store, handle, and preserve materials per manufacturer guidelines.
• Lead and mentor warehouse staff toward safety and continuous improvement.
