Job summary

JLG, an Oshkosh company, seeks a Principal Materials & Systems Lead to guide lean material flow, standardize processes, and mentor the Materials Management team across manufacturing and warehousing networks.

The role emphasizes strategic planning, ERP utilization, and collaboration with GPSC and SIOP to align supply with demand while maintaining inventory discipline. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree with 8+ years in Supply Chain/Materials or related field.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience leading others.
• Relevant industry certifications.
• Purchasing experience in manufacturing.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Occasional travel (<25%).

Responsibilities

• Lead continuous improvement of the organization by engaging with business leaders to drive compliance with the corporate material flow strategy.
• Maintain the MRP report card including inventory accuracy, on-time delivery, inventory levels, and E&O inventory reduction.
• Lead projects to synchronize material consumption with production and optimize material presentation to the point of use.
• Drive cost reduction initiatives aligned with material flow strategy.
• Coordinate with GPSC and SIOP teams on future build schedules to meet customer requirements.
• Automate business processes to reduce information waste and labor.
• Build trust and develop team members through frequent meaningful conversations.
