Job summary

Lonza Houston is seeking a Materials Handler III to manage receipt, storage, movement and issuance of raw materials in a GMP manufacturing environment. This on-site role includes responsibility for inventory accuracy and adherence to quality standards.

The position requires ERP experience and forklift certification, with opportunities to mentor junior staff and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in warehouse operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3-5 years of warehouse or materials handling experience.
• Experience in regulated manufacturing environments (pharma/biotech) preferred.
• ERP experience with SAP/Oracle or similar systems.
• Forklift certification required.
• Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
• Knowledge of inventory control principles and SOPs.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, verify, and process incoming materials and shipments.
• Move materials between warehouse, production, laboratories, and staging areas.
• Maintain accurate inventory transactions in ERP/WMS.
• Conduct cycle counts and investigate discrepancies.
• Ensure proper storage conditions and FIFO/FEFO requirements.
• Prepare, package, and coordinate outbound shipments.
• Support production by staging and issuing materials per schedules.
• Operate material handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks).
• Adhere to GDP/Good Documentation Practices and complete records in real time.
• Assist audits and participate in corrective actions.
• Train and mentor junior warehouse personnel.
• Identify process improvements for safety and efficiency.
