Job summary

Bal Seal Engineering is seeking a Materials Engineer II to develop seal polymers and spring wire materials, analyze materials, and support sales and production with testing and problem solving. You will work with minimal supervision to troubleshoot materials challenges and collaborate with stakeholders to implement new materials.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Materials Science or related Engineering field is required.
  • Master's degree is preferred.
  • Minimum 4 years in Materials Science and Engineering.
  • Strong writing and communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

  • Material Analysis using SEM, DSC, TGA, FTIR and other equipment.
  • Evaluate and select spring energizer materials for aerospace and medical grade wires.
  • Lead and execute complex material evaluation and cross-functional root-cause analyses.
  • Develop and execute test plans with prioritize-by-due date.
  • Prepare documentation verifying test results and material performance.
  • Interface with engineering and other stakeholders to ensure material specs are met.
