Job summary

Strategic Analysis, Inc. (SA) is seeking a Senior Science and Technology Analyst to support the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research & Engineering with emphasis on Advanced Materials.

The hybrid role involves on-site work at Mark Center in Alexandria, VA up to three days per week. The position requires a TS/SCI clearance, a master’s degree, and at least ten years of relevant experience in DoD contexts, with strong analytic, strategic, and communication skills to guide technology

Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI clearance required; highly specialized candidates with an active DoD SECRET clearance may be considered.
  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Ten (10) years' recent and relevant experience is required.
  • Experience supporting the federal government and the DoD is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in technical research and an in-depth knowledge of critical, advanced materials.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and oral; briefings and meeting moderation.
  • Ability to work independently with junior and senior staff in a distributed environment while maintaining a strong commitment to deliverables schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and monitor baseline financial metrics to measure the value of Advanced Materials investments against strategic goals and objectives.
  • Support and attend designated program reviews of DoD and non-DoD Services/Agencies Communities of Interest; facilitate or lead cross-organizational teams into high-interest technology areas.
  • Provide analysis and support to the DoD S&T COI by assisting in reviewing roadmaps and reporting and providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Provide strategic guidance and technical advice to COIs developing ARAP seedling and full ARAP project proposals.
  • Support international programs; prepare Terms of Reference and Data/Information Exchange Agreements.
  • Assist DoD Components in complying with data calls; interact with contracting offices to facilitate responses.
  • Maintain situational awareness of Advanced Materials developments and TRL transitions to support CTA priorities.
  • Assess state-of-the-art materials for platforms and weapons tech; identify enabling technologies to support warfighter needs.
  • Prepare analyses aligning assessments to threats across communities.
  • Produce directives, meeting minutes, briefings, and documentation for S&T management.
  • Participate in working group meetings; produce minutes and action items.
