Afton Scientific, a Virginia-based contract manufacturing organization, seeks an experienced Senior Buyer Planner to lead procurement, planning, and material management for manufacturing and projects. You will drive supplier relationships, forecast demand, and optimize inventory to ensure timely production continuity.

Responsibilities include negotiating quotes, monitoring deliveries, maintaining MRP data, and guiding continuous improvements in supply chain processes.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor's degree; degree can be substituted with 5+ years purchasing experience.
• Experience in inventory management and procuring materials.
• Proficiency with SAP or another ERP system and with Excel/Word.
• Strong organizational, communication, negotiation, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines.

Responsabilités

• Obtain quotes and procure materials to support manufacturing and projects.
• Manage supplier relationships and monitor delivery performance.
• Oversee raw material inventory, in-transit, and consignment stock with MRP data.
• Coordinate material availability to support production schedules and minimize shortages.
• Lead supplier qualification, audits, and regulatory documentation.
• Develop inventory policies, safety stock, reorder points, and lot sizes.
• Identify supply risks and implement mitigation plans.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in supply chain.
