Blizzard Entertainment, Inc. in Irvine, CA is seeking a Senior Materials Artist II to define and advance the material pipeline across STARCRAFT, shaping the visual quality of environments, characters, and props.

You will collaborate with art directors, engineers, and production partners to establish standards, mentor peers, and evolve scalable material tools while balancing performance and beauty in a dynamic AAA production.

Competenze

• 12+ years of professional experience in materials, textures, surfacing, or related game art discipline.
• Shipped multiple AAA games in a senior or principal materials, texture, surfacing, or related art role.
• Expert knowledge of Substance 3D Designer and Substance 3D Painter with advanced material authoring.
• Expert understanding of physically based rendering, lighting and material interaction, texture creation and optimization.

• Create and integrate high-quality materials for natural environments, architecture, characters, and props.
• Define and maintain physically based rendering standards and material authoring guidelines.
• Develop scalable material pipelines, libraries, tools, and workflows with engineers.
• Lead material reviews, critiques, and technical evaluations to meet visual direction and quality.
• Mentor artists through documentation, demonstrations, feedback, and hands-on support.
• Evaluate emerging tools and techniques to improve quality and efficiency.
