Job summary

Laepple Automotive US Inc. seeks a results-oriented Material Planning & Logistics Manager to lead material planning, inventory control, and logistics for a Detroit-area automotive manufacturing environment.

The role requires directing demand planning, supplier coordination, and lean improvements to ensure on-time delivery and cost efficiency. Strong ERP/MRP skills and prior automotive experience are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• 7+ years in material planning, logistics, or supply chain.
• Minimum 3 years of leadership experience overseeing planning, logistics, or supply chain teams.
• Experience supporting automotive OEM or Tier 1 customer requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop Material Planner(s), Scheduler(s), Supervisors, Coordinators, and staff.
• Review customer releases, EDI schedules, forecasts, and demand fluctuations.
• Coordinate with production, purchasing, and customer service to balance capacity and requirements.
• Lead MRP planning activities and maintain ERP system parameters.
• Monitor inventory levels, accuracy, and slow-moving or obsolete materials.
• Direct warehouse, shipping, receiving, and transportation activities.
