Job summary

PowerSecure, Inc. in Durham, NC seeks a Senior Material Planning Manager to lead material availability, inventory performance, and production readiness across the organization.

You will drive MRP strategy, risk mitigation, shortage resolution, and cross-functional planning initiatives to meet customer commitments and operational objectives. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of progressively responsible materials planning, production planning, inventory control, or supply chain experience in a manufacturing MRP environment.
• Leadership of complex MRP-driven planning in a discrete, high-mix or engineered-to-order environment.
• Advanced proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (IFS, SAP, Oracle) and planning parameter management.
• Advanced analytics in Excel, evaluating data, signals, lead times, and inventory risks.

Responsibilities

• Own PFEP process including planning parameter management and material forecasting.
• Partner with Data Analysts to develop dashboards, KPIs, shortage reporting, and planning tools.
• Lead material risk management by evaluating suppliers, demand signals, and project requirements.
• Serve as liaison between Engineering, Procurement, Planning, Production, and leadership on material health and shortages.
• Own Alternate Parts Process with Engineering and Procurement for substitutions.
• Partner with Procurement in supplier meetings to review shortages and recovery plans.
• Oversee Distribution Orders and material movements to ensure schedule alignment.
• Own Kanban system, maintenance, and continuous improvement.
• Lead readiness, production status, shortage reviews, and risk assessments with corrective actions.
• Lead root-cause analysis for material constraints and inventory discrepancies.
• Mentor Materials Planner I and II to elevate planning capabilities.
