This role requires owning the entire material flow from initial demand to final delivery, with a focus on strategic execution and precision to ensure the production line operates without interruption.

Overview

Role overview and base pay range are provided by the employer. The typical base pay range is $30.00/hr - $50.00/hr.

What You Will Do

The Material Planner is responsible for planning and monitoring the flow of material from receipt of demand through the manufacturing process, synchronizing material availability with final assembly build schedules for assigned work centers, and maintaining line-side inventory, internal Kanban sizes, and safety stock to meet customer schedules. They create job orders, ensure timely completion, and coordinate with shipping to meet the customer schedule in line with backlog.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Collect shortage information and expedite materials to jobs as required
  • Define and proactively adjust inventory levels (line side inventory, internal Kanban, safety stock, finished goods)
  • Recommend and implement ideas to improve product velocity, right-size inventory levels, and reduce overall costs
  • Manage complex bills of materials
  • Manage and execute complex engineering change orders
  • Manage obsolescence and stock depletion
  • Create and regularly update lines of balance
  • Reschedule job orders to meet customer schedules
  • Input job order status and delivery information for Customer Service
  • Lead meetings regarding materials needs
Preferred Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience
  • 8 or more years of relevant experience preferred
Skills and Abilities
  • Demonstrated experience in the practical application of MRP, scheduling, order policies and modifiers, capacity planning, product structures, shop floor control, and product families
  • Proficient with Excel
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve material issues
  • Excellent oral and good written communication skills
  • Team player with sound judgment and analytical abilities
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize activities
  • Knowledgeable in master scheduling and demand management
  • APICS or equivalent training preferred
  • Proficient with MS Suite
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervisory input
  • Day Shift Work Schedule 6.00 AM – 2:30 PM
Salary Range

Please note the typical hiring range is $30.00 - $50.00 hourly. Offers within the range are based on significant job qualifications and pay equity.
