Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Senior Material Manager to lead material management for large heavy construction projects. You will supervise staff and craft personnel, interact with senior site management and vendors, and drive purchasing and material control across active projects.

The role requires a BA degree and 8+ years in power or industrial construction, with the ability to travel and relocate for field assignments. Strong leadership and procurement expertise are essential.

Qualifications

• BA degree and 8+ years in power or industrial construction.
• Subject Matter Expert on all material management functions.
• Strong knowledge of site purchasing, execution and estimating impact.
• Proven ability to lead teams and manage complex processes.
• Ability to gain buy-in cross-functionally and organizationally.
• Experience planning and executing project work; monitoring budgets.
• Knowledge of prime contract requirements for project execution.
• Experience tracking equipment, materials, labor budgets, trends and forecasts.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety plan adherence by the material management group.
• Develop and direct material management team including craft and staff.
• Implement and maintain material control policies with minimal assistance.
• Oversee receipt, storage, and issuance of project materials.
• Manage projections, financial planning, delivery schedules, reporting.
• Coordinate site support functions (security, toilets, fencing, etc.).
• Lead large project mobilization/demobilization efforts.
• Negotiate and coordinate with suppliers on behalf of the company.
• Train staff and conduct material management audits.
