Designed Conveyor Systems (DCS) is seeking a Sr. Solutions Design Engineer, D&F, to apply material handling automated systems and layout expertise to meet client processing goals.

You will turn concepts into functioning designs that support our Sales and Pre-Contract team and participate in Customer meetings as a trusted advocate. The role rewards a creative, solutions-driven approach with strong mechanical design and automation knowledge, plus extensive teamwork.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Material Handling system design experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• Expertise in AutoDesk/AutoCAD drafting software.
• Experience with material handling equipment OEMs software drawing packages.
• Extensive knowledge about automated material handling equipment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with system simulation.
• Experience leading system pricing estimation.
• Experience across all phases of the project lifecycle from concepting to implementation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to defend solutions to customers.

Responsabilités

• Lead the development of automated material handling concept solutions.
• Detail material handling concepts into functional layouts.
• Apply equipment types to maximize utility and meet output goals.
• Develop automation alternatives for Tier 1 systems and evaluate pros/cons.
• Determine throughput capabilities and size equipment appropriately.
• Support development of equipment lists and pricing.
• Compare layout designs to determine the best overall approach.
• Deliver findings to intercompany groups and the Customer.
• Provide technical Sales assistance to convert concepts into integration projects.
• Collaborate with intercompany groups to support proposal development and execution.
