Job summary

UFP Industries is seeking a experienced materials supervisor to oversee material handling, inventory control practices, and reporting operations. The role requires a high level of professionalism and collaboration with the lead, supervisor, and upper management.

The successful candidate will direct daily activities on the floor, manage cycle counts, verify BOM accuracy, and ensure ERP transactions and shipments are processed accurately.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in material handling or inventory control.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to read work orders/prints and have advanced computer skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
• Print reading ability.
• Must be able to problem solve.
• Must have knowledge of custom store fixture industry and receiving.
• Ability to clearly identify product from package labels.
• Exceptional attention to detail and quality.
• Must also be willing to work flexible and overtime hours as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction to others and represent themselves as a leader.
• Operate as Manager when Manager is off floor or not in building.
• Expert understanding of all other material handling roles.
• Complete understanding of all other departments and how to interact with them.
• Active communication with employees and upper management.
• Locate product, complete cycle counts, and ensure inventory and financial accuracy.
• Work with project management to expedite customer requests.
• Close jobs, put items into inventory, and assign locations; manage Excel-based reports.
• Organize and plan to prepare shipments for unloading or transit.
• Inspect inbound or outbound goods and address discrepancies or damage.
• Be able to work independently while managing multiple priorities and complete cycle counts.
• Validate BOMs for accuracy and process through CSF.
• Determine storage locations and provide data back to lead/manager for transactions.
• Show proficiency in ERP picking and bin-to-bin transfers.
• Carry out Receiving/Shipping clerk tasks as assigned.
• Operate lift equipment within safety limits.
• Scan QR and Bar codes and complete basic pick transactions.
