Job summary

Sysco San Francisco, Inc. is seeking a Material Handling Equipment Technician Lead to oversee MHE operations, maintenance, and battery management. The role includes supervising technicians, guiding safety practices, and ensuring fleet readiness for daily operations.

Ideal candidates will have extensive MHE maintenance experience, relevant certifications, and ability to mentor junior staff while maintaining compliance with safety standards and OSHA regulations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; tech school or equivalent is preferred (2 years)
• Six years in an MHE maintenance position or equivalent
• Must possess a valid state Driver's License and provide proof of liability coverage
• Complete a Sysco approved defensive driving program
• Obtain a Powered Industrial Equipment Certification from Sysco within 3 months
• MHE 8 hour maintenance tech certificate from MHE manufacturer (e.g. Crown, Raymond, Hyster)
• Trade electrical I & II training (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Oversee safe operation and maintenance of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) and batteries.
• Mentor MHE Tech I and II to support career progression.
• Maintain PMs and repairs for the MHE fleet.
• Log time and materials into CMMS daily with work orders and PMs.
• Ensure safety policies, OSHA regulations, and proper PPE adherence.
• Assist in battery-related tasks and equipment maintenance activities.
