Job summary

Riot Games is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Matchmaking team to build and maintain services powering matchmaking, skill, and rank across Riot’s games. You will optimize matchmaking and skill algorithms and work on the distributed system that handles real-time needs for millions of players, reporting to the Engineering Manager of the Matchmaking team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in a software engineering role.
• Expertise in GoLang, C#, and familiarity with Java / Kotlin / TypeScript.
• Experience with microservices architecture, API development, and client/service patterns.
• Experience with cross-team collaboration and communication.

Responsibilities

• Develop and support Matchmaking, Skill, and Rank services.
• Support Go and C# services at a globally distributed scale.
• Partner with product owners and tech leads to build and operate features end-to-end.
• Provide high-quality software with unit, functional, and integration tests.
• Participate in on-call rotation and mentor engineers.
