Job summary

Core Systems in Poway, CA is seeking a Senior Production Planner to own the master production schedule across lines, manage change control, and coordinate with operations, purchasing, and sales to align demand with capacity.

This senior individual contributor role requires 7+ years of production planning, strong ERP/MRP and Excel skills, and familiarity with BOMs, lead times, and capacity planning to optimize performance.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 7 years of experience in production planning or master scheduling within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with ERP and MRP systems (SAP / Oracle / MS Dynamics / Epicor preferred).
• Knowledge of bills of materials, routings, lead times, and finite capacity planning.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for large data set analysis.
• Proven ability to maintain schedule integrity during disruptions and communicate constraints clearly.
• The credibility to engage with commercial and operational stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Owns the master production schedule across production lines and manages change control.
• Release and prioritize orders within capacity and service levels.
• Set inventory policy, safety stock, reorder points, and lot sizing.
• Represent the supply position in the S&OP cycle and commit as able.
• Track schedule adherence and perform root-cause analysis for improvements.
• Handle production sequencing with engineering changes and new product introductions.
• Run MRP cycles, act on exceptions, and convert planned orders to releases.
• Identify capacity constraints and coordinate resolution with purchasing and suppliers.
• Negotiate delivery dates and escalate when commitments exceed capacity.
• Report on schedule adherence, on-time delivery, and inventory turnover weekly.
• Advance planning improvements in ERP data and parameters.
