Job summary

Turtles in New York City is seeking an exceptional data scientist to own the economics of our marketplaces. You’ll work directly with the CEO and VP Engineering in our NYC office on a high-impact platform with real economies and autonomous teams.

You’ll be our first dedicated data scientist, designing experiments and translating insights into decisions that drive revenue and efficiency with rapid iteration and accountability.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of applied analysis on a real consumer business, ideally in consumer apps, marketplaces, or performance marketing.
• Economic reasoning about systems: pricing, virtual economies, marketplace dynamics.
• Healthy skepticism about results and a bias for action.

Responsibilities

• Own our marketplace economy, focusing on scheduling, promotions, and pricing implications.
• Design experiments and interpret results to drive decisions.
• Find ways to improve user acquisition, payment authorization, and promotion economics.
