Qualifications

• 10+ years in communications, marketing, content, or media in tech or social.
• Portfolio of work showing stories landed and campaigns that generated discussion.
• Real relationships with journalists and creators, with proactive outreach instincts.
• Exceptional writing and editing across platforms and moments.
• Fluency in internet culture and current online trends.
• Experience in fast, scrappy environments with rapid iteration.
• Calm under pressure with crisis navigation experience.

Responsibilities

• Own Bluesky's story across press, our channels, and the wider internet.
• Create content and collaborate with creators to amplify it.
• Source and manage speaking opportunities for leaders; pitch and prep.
• Proactively pitch stories with journalists and creators.
• Build a broad network of reporters, creators, and community voices.
• Plan and run launches and campaigns for new features.
• Shape brand voice and ensure consistency across all outputs.
• Monitor network trends and turn them into stories quickly.
• Lead comms during crises with speed and honesty.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and community teams.
• Manage outside partners: freelancers, creators, agencies.
