Job summary

RBC in New York is seeking an Associate Director, Market Risk Governance & Controls to establish and maintain the risk governance, policy, and control framework for Market Risk at the US IHC. The role covers policy creation, designation processes, and net short monitorings, coordinating with FRB and audits.

You will prepare governance materials, regulatory packages, and engage with governance committees while aligning with Basel III/IV and US prudential expectations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics or related field.
• 5+ years at a bank or financial institution with exposure to Market Risk governance or second-line risk.
• Strong understanding of US prudential regulatory frameworks and FRB expectations.
• Experience developing risk governance documents and committee materials.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance Market Risk policies, procedures, and governance frameworks for the US IHC.
• Establish and operate the re-designation framework with FRB processes; monitor net short credit/equity positions.
• Design and execute process controls across Market Risk functions including RCSAs and KRIs.
• Prepare governance materials and approval packages for FRB engagements; coordinate across Risk, Finance, and Front Office.
• Support regulatory sensitivities pre-approval analysis and document alternative definitions.
• Review guidance to identify evolving regulatory requirements and assist internal audits and examinations.
