Job summary

PJM Interconnection, LLC seeks a Market Design Specialist to design, analyze, and optimize market structures and rules across PJM’s markets. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to improve efficiency and reliability during the energy transition.

The role emphasizes independent work on complex studies, development of position papers, and support for FERC filings. Hybrid work arrangement and opportunities to drive innovative solutions are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Economics, Mathematics or equivalent work experience.
• 5 years of Engineer/Analyst experience with attention to detail.
• Experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis.
• Ability to use mathematical and electrical theory.
• PJM is not STEM OPT eligible; immigration sponsorship is not available for this position.

Responsibilities

• Conduct market analysis of electricity markets and PJM rules to identify opportunities for design decisions.
• Develop and analyze market design concepts; document strategies to evolve PJM markets.
• Engage stakeholders and regulators; prepare presentations and support FERC filings.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives to implement market design changes and drive consensus.
