Job summary

Millennium is seeking a senior Java/C++ developer in New York to lead onboarding of external trading teams and expand front-office connectivity across asset classes. You will partner with brokers, ECNs, and platforms to ensure robust integrations and resolve complex production issues.

The role requires strong OO design, FIX protocol knowledge, and extensive Linux networking experience, all within a financial setting. Excellent communication is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Java development experience, including multithreaded applications.
• 3+ years of C++ development experience.
• Strong object-oriented programming skills.
• At least 5 years of experience within a financial institution.
• Strong knowledge of FIX protocols, including FIX 4.2 through FIX 5.0.
• Extensive Linux development experience and working knowledge of TCP/IP, UDP, and multicast networking protocols.
• Strong understanding of market structure across equities, futures, options, and FX products.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; knowledge of binary trading protocols is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the onboarding of external trading teams, integrating third-party trading systems into the Millennium ecosystem.
• Develop and maintain front-office market connectivity and trading solutions.
• Partner with brokers, exchanges, ECNs, and third-party platform providers to support reliable integration and connectivity.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues, providing Level 3 support for trading systems.
• Collaborate with global stakeholders to deliver seamless connectivity across asset classes and regions.
