Job summary

Nomura in New York is seeking a Senior Java Developer to join the Global Markets front office trading team. You will design and optimize high-performance, low-latency Java applications that support proprietary algorithmic strategies and connect to external venues.

Working with traders, quants, and technologists, you'll own the full software lifecycle, implement multithreading and event-driven patterns, and ensure robust, scalable solutions in a Linux environment.

Qualifications

• 3-7 years developing trading systems or electronic trading platforms.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/Math/Engineering or related field.
• Expert-level Java with knowledge of modern Java versions.
• Strong multithreading and performance optimization skills.
• Experience with FIX protocol and market connectivity.
• Proficient in SQL/NoSQL and Linux/Unix.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop high-performance, low-latency Java applications for the trading platform.
• Own the full software lifecycle from requirements to production support.
• Implement multithreading and asynchronous patterns for low latency.
• Integrate with external trading systems and execution venues via FIX.
• Collaborate with traders, quants, and risk managers to deliver robust solutions.
