Job summary

Northrop Grumman Corporation is seeking a Sr. Principal Maritime Test Engineer for our Stevensville, MD field-site supporting Annapolis, MD. The role focuses on maritime test activities, vessel modifications, and system test execution aboard ships in open water.

Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree with extensive maritime testing experience; active clearance or ability to obtain may be required. This on-call/casual position offers annual salary guidance and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of relevant experience; Master’s degree with 6+ years; additional 4 years may substitute for degree.
• Experience in Commercial/DOW Maritime; experience with sonar/radar/navigation.
• Willingness to work year-round on open water aboard ship; US citizenship and clearances may be required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct development test activities aboard ship in the Chesapeake Bay, Delaware Bay, and North Atlantic.
• Lead pre-test planning, safety operations assessments, and cost/logistics planning.
• Oversee deck operations, rigging, and critical lifts; manage vessel modifications and test equipment installations.
• Work with data recording, telemetry, and maritime instrumentation; support open water testing environments.
