Job summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems seeks a Sr. Principal Maritime Test Engineer for our Stevensville, MD on-site field-site.

The role supports Annapolis-based teams with development testing aboard ships, including data recording, telemetry, and vessel modifications within open-water environments. The candidate will lead pre-test planning, safety assessments, and deck operations, working year-round at sea with diverse maritime platforms and test equipment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field; 8+ years experience; Masters with 6+ years also considered
• Experience in Commercial/DOW Maritime environments
• Background in Sonar, Radar, Navigation, Deck Operations, and/or System Test & Evaluation
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs, unassisted
• Willingness to work year-round on open water aboard ship
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain program-specific clearances

Responsibilities

• Conduct development test activities aboard ship in the Chesapeake Bay, Delaware Bay, and North Atlantic.
• Lead pre-test planning, safety assessments, cost and logistics.
• Oversee deck operations, rigging and critical lifts.
• Manage all engineering activities for vessel modifications and testing equipment.
• Work with data recording, telemetry and maritime instrumentation.
