Job summary

CPCS is seeking a senior maritime expert to expand its consulting revenue in port strategy, operations, planning, data analytics, bid support, and policy advisory across the U.S. You will work with CPCS’s global team to deliver challenging projects for port operators, steamship lines, and related stakeholders.

You will thrive in a high-impact role at the intersection of consulting, business development, and hands-on industry expertise.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in the maritime sector, ideally including roles in: terminal operating companies, steamship lines, and maritime-focused consulting.
• Demonstrated success in business development, client relationship management, or revenue generation.
• Strong understanding of port operations, terminal processes, maritime logistics, and industry economics.
• Experience with both coastal ports and inland ports is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and proposal-writing skills.
• Ability to work independently, think strategically, and operate in a fast-paced consulting environment.
• Willingness to travel for client engagements and business development.

Responsibilities

• Leverage an established maritime professional network to identify, pursue, and win new engagements.
• Lead business development in coastal and inland ports, including client outreach and proposals.
• Shape CPCS’s maritime growth strategy and position CPCS as a leading North American port advisor.
• Represent CPCS at industry events and client meetings to build visibility and relationships.
• Serve as project manager and SME on port operations, terminal management, shipping line dynamics, and maritime logistics.
• Lead or support engagements in port strategy, operational assessments, data analytics, and market forecasting.
• Provide mentorship to junior consultants and contribute to internal capability building.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Contribute to development of tools, methodologies, and CPCS competitive edge.
