Job summary
Anduril Industries is seeking an experienced Metal Former/Machine Operator to join a cutting-edge maritime manufacturing team. You will fabricate high-quality parts in a production system and build assemblies to support the floor, collaborating with engineering to advance state-of-the-possible in defense hardware.
The role requires deep hands-on fabrication experience, knowledge of plate rolling and hydraulic press brakes, and the ability to work across R&D and production tasks while mentoring
Qualifications
- 10-15+ years' experience as a metal forming technician.
- Experience setting up and operating plate rolling machines to form cylinders, cones, and other curved shapes (up to 4-6”).
- Extensive experience operating hydraulic press brakes for forming and bending.
- Familiarity with various alloys and metals; GD&T knowledge.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret technical drawings and CAD models.
- Program/setup/operate manual, semi-automated and CNC plate rollers, hydraulic presses, and shears.
- Design/spec out and lead implementation of work holding and fixture methods.
- Serve as SME on rolling/forming/contouring of pressure vessels and alloys.
- Troubleshoot issues and adjust during manufacturing.
- Perform quality control during and after manufacturing.
- Lead organization, machine maintenance, and cleanliness of the work area.
- Collaborate with Quality and Engineering on safety policies and procedures.
- Help build, supervise, and mentor the fabrication team on rolling and forming tasks.
