Job summary

The Port of Oakland seeks a seasoned Director of Maritime to lead the Maritime Division, reporting to the Executive Director. You will set strategic direction and oversee operations for a major international trade gateway in Northern California.

You will strengthen customer and partner relations, manage a large operating budget and workforce, and apply deep knowledge of container terminal operations and logistics to ensure efficient, financially sustainable maritime assets.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
  • At least seven years of maritime operations experience.
  • Minimum three years in senior executive leadership.
  • Experience working in a unionized labor environment.
