This position can be based in our offices in Houston, TX, Boston, MA, Baton Rouge, LA, Tampa, FL, Jacksonville, FL, Boca Raton, FL, Pensacola, FL, Tallahassee, FL, Pass Christian, MS, Wilmington, NC, Charleston, SC, or Philadelphia, PA, or other U.S. offices. A hybrid or remote schedule may be available at the company's discretion. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of experience in developing complex coastal engineering solutions and will support our Coastal Engineering and Waterfront Development teams nationwide.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

1. Provide SME for structural design of marine infrastructure such as bulkheads, wharfs, bridge pilings, harbors, docks, breakwaters, and shoreline protection systems.
2. Conduct structural analysis and modeling to ensure stability, safety, and compliance.
3. Support project teams across all phases, including planning, design, construction, and maintenance.
4. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative, sustainable solutions.
5. Assist in preparing proposals, estimates, and schedules for business development.
6. Lead and review calculations, drawings, and specifications to ensure quality.
7. Mentor junior engineers, fostering growth and development.
8. Stay updated on marine engineering advancements and integrate best practices.
9. Engage with clients and stakeholders for presentations and updates.
10. Overnight travel: 30-50%.

Education and Licensure

1. Bachelor’s degree in civil, structural, marine engineering, or related field (required).
2. Advanced degree (preferred).
3. Professional Engineer license (required).
4. Structural Engineering (SE) license (preferred).

Skills, Experience, And Qualifications

1. 8+ years (10+ preferred) in marine structural engineering, including projects like bulkheads, docks, harbors, shoreline protection, or equivalent experience (required).
2. Proficiency in SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, or LARSA (required).
3. Understanding of materials like steel, concrete, timber, composites (required).
4. Experience in wave, current, and load modeling (required).
5. Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate effectively (required).
6. Business development skills, including proposal writing and client presentations (preferred).
7. Regular field work and travel (required).
8. Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers (preferred).
9. Valid U.S. driver’s license (required).
