Job summary

Q.E.D. Systems Inc. seeks a Senior Engineering Marine Mechanical Specialist to support U.S. Navy Small Boat Waterfront Operations at Naval Base Norfolk. You will oversee the maintenance, repair, testing and prototyping of marine mechanical systems, including engines, pumps and control systems.

This contingent, contract-based role requires seven years of small watercraft experience and relevant certifications, with the ability to lead mechanical teams through checks, installations and trials.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent trade certification in marine/diesel tech.
• Alternative: High School diploma with Marine Diesel Mechanic Certification or OEM cert for two brands.
• Must have seven years of small watercraft mechanical systems experience.
• Experience with testing, maintenance, and repairs.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical teams during boat checks, installations and testing.
• Troubleshoot and repair various mechanical and piping systems.
• Interpret technical drawings to identify parts and repairs.
• Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
