Job summary

Quartermaster seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to design and release marine electromechanical hardware for SmartMast systems and related outdoor products. You will own mechanical portions from concept through prototyping, testing, and production release.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years designing hardware for harsh environments, strong CAD (Onshape), and experience with enclosure design, cable routing, and manufacturability.

Qualifications

• Experience designing mechanical hardware for marine or outdoor electronics.
• Ability to work independently and meet short R&D timelines.
• Strong knowledge of enclosure design, sealing, corrosion resistance, and vibration.

Responsibilities

• Design and release mechanical hardware, including enclosures, mounts, brackets, interfaces, and installation solutions.
• Design for sealing, corrosion resistance, vibration, serviceability, manufacturability, and assembly quality.
• Own mechanical portions of projects from concept through prototyping, testing, and production release.
• Work with electrical, operations, manufacturing, and suppliers to resolve integration issues and improve reliability.
• Define and improve standards for cabling, connectorization, mounting, and field installation.
