Job summary

Signet Maritime Corporation is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Engineering and Procurement teams, oversee the operational and technical management of vessels, and drive major retrofit projects.

The role requires a Marine Engineering degree or equivalent experience, a USCG Chief Engineer license, and extensive seagoing background. You will coordinate drydock planning, ensure regulatory compliance, and mentor crew across departments.

Qualifications

• Marine Engineering Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
• Active USCG Chief Engineer - Limited or greater license.
• 5+ years seagoing experience.
• Experience with EMD, John Deere, Cummins and Volvo Penta engines, Kongsberg thrusters, electrical systems.
• Knowledge of ABS, USCG, IMO, SOLAS and other regulatory standards.
• Experience with vessel drydock/shipyard planning, budgeting and on-site management.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Strong interpersonal and technical writing abilities.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the Engineering and Procurement departments.
• Oversee operational and technical management of the vessels.
• Manage engineering projects and retrofit initiatives.
• Plan fleet maintenance and repair programs.
• Coordinate with regulatory and Class representatives.
• Investigate engineering casualties and propose corrective actions.
• Plan vessel drydock periods and on-site owner oversight.
• Support HSSEQ, Operations, Business Development and other departments.
