Job summary

Hornblower Corp. is seeking a highly experienced Marine Chief Engineer to lead the engineering and maintenance of vessels and facilities in the San Francisco Bay Area.

The role requires a USCG-licensed Chief Engineer with extensive marine leadership experience, with duties spanning repairs, maintenance planning, and project oversight. You will manage crews, ensure compliance with Coast Guard and federal regulations, and coordinate with senior leadership on drydock packages and cost control.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years marine experience with 5 years as licensed Chief/First Assistant Chief Engineer.
• Valid USCG license on vessels >= 4000 hp or 1600 gross tons.
• TWIC, Lifeboat, advanced firefighting, and STCW ratings.
• Strong diagnostic, budgeting, and record-keeping skills.
• Ability to lead and train engine room staff.
• U.S. citizen or permanent resident.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs, overhauls, and upgrades to engineering machinery and equipment per Coast Guard requirements.
• Manage Engineering and Maintenance teams to accomplish duties.
• Schedule preventive maintenance and maintain accurate records.
• Assist with renovation of Hornblower fleet facilities in the SF Bay Area.
• Oversee planning of significant R&M and capital projects for vessels in Northern California.
