Job summary

Serco Inc. in Arlington, Virginia, seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design of marine electrical systems and power distribution for naval and commercial vessels.

You will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to develop, review, and deliver high-quality electrical designs on schedule. You will produce schematics, load analyses, and equipment specifications, support FAT/SAT and sea trials, and mentor junior engineers while ensuring compliance with IEC, IEEE, ABS, and SOLAS

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
• U.S. Citizenship required.
• 10+ years designing marine electrical systems with professional engineers or shipyards.
• Strong knowledge of electrical design principles and regulatory standards (IEC, IEEE, DNV, ABS, SOLAS, 46 CFR).
• Experience writing SOWs and technical instructions; proficient in interpreting drawings.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and specification of marine electrical systems from concept to construction.
• Produce and review single-line diagrams, schematics, load analyses, cable schedules, and equipment specs.
• Provide project cost and schedule estimates.
• Support FAT, SAT, commissioning, and sea trials.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
