Job summary

Manpower Engineering, partnering with a leader in medical device manufacturing, seeks a Senior Engineering Technician – Catheters in Fridley, MN. This direct-hire role focuses on advanced technical support for development, characterization, and sustainment of new catheter technologies and manufacturing processes.

The Senior Engineering Technician will act as an SME for equipment and processes, develop documentation, establish process controls, mentor technicians, and support smooth transitions

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; 2-year technical degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years in engineering, manufacturing or process development.
  • Experience with catheter assembly, braiding, reflow, tipping, and inspection.
  • Experience in regulated medical device/OEM manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as SME for equipment, tooling and process setup for scalable manufacturing.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation including work instructions and checklists.
  • Establish process windows, controls and key operating parameters.
  • Apply root-cause analysis to solve manufacturing problems and implement solutions.
  • Support transition of new products from development to production and train staff.
  • Provide ongoing process improvements for tooling and production performance.
  • Utilize ERP, SPC and related systems for coordination and scheduling.
  • Assist Sales and cross-functional teams with technical support as needed.
  • Mentor technicians and ensure compliance with quality systems.

Manpower Engineering is partnering with a leader in medical device manufacturing for a Senior Engineering Technician – Catheters.

Job Title: Senior Engineering Technician - Catheters
Location: Fridley, MN
Pay: $32-$38/hour
Duration: Direct Hire
Job Function Summary:

The Senior Engineering Technician-Catheters provides advanced technical and engineering support to cross-functional teams responsible for the development, characterization, commercialization, and sustainment of new technology platforms and manufacturing processes.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert for equipment, tooling, and manufacturing process setup, including preparation for long-term and scalable manufacturing.
  • Develop, draft, and maintain manufacturing and process documentation, including work instructions, setup sheets, certification checklists, visual aids, and related materials.
  • Establish, document, and control process windows, process controls, and key operating parameters.
  • Apply creative problem-solving skills to analyze root cause, understand cause-and-effect relationships, and implement effective solutions in a timely manner.
  • Support the transition of new products and technologies from development into production, including training and coaching manufacturing personnel.
  • Provide ongoing engineering and manufacturing support to optimize processes, tooling, and production performance through controlled and documented process changes.
  • Utilize ERP, SPC, and related systems to support engineering activities, manufacturing coordination, scheduling, and shipment responsibilities.
  • Provide technical support to Sales, Customer, and cross-functional teams as requested.
  • Train and mentor technicians and other team members based on demonstrated expertise and experience.
  • Maintain compliance with established quality systems, process change procedures, and documentation standards.
Education and Required Skills:
  • High school diploma or GED required; 2-year technical degree strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in engineering, manufacturing or process development environment.
  • Experience with catheter assembly, braiding, reflow, tipping, and inspection.
  • Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment, preferably medical device or OEM manufacturing.
  • Experience with ERP, SPC, and manufacturing documentation systems.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting complex projects through commercialization.
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple technical priorities.
  • Demonstrated commitment to supporting positive customer and stakeholder experiences.
