Job summary

ManpowerGroup is seeking a Senior Engineering Technician-Catheters in Fridley, MN, for direct hire. The role focuses on advanced technical support for development, characterization, commercialization, and sustainment of catheter manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities include SME-level product setup, process documentation, parameter controls, root-cause analysis, and training of manufacturing staff. Prior catheter experience and ERP/SPC proficiency are highly valued.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; 2-year technical degree strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in engineering, manufacturing or process development environment.
  • Experience with catheter assembly, braiding, reflow, tipping, and inspection.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as SME for equipment, tooling, and process setup for scalable manufacturing.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation: work instructions, setup sheets, checklists, visuals.
  • Establish process windows, controls, and key operating parameters.
  • Analyze root causes and implement timely solutions.
  • Support transitions of new products from development to production and train personnel.
  • Provide ongoing engineering and manufacturing support to optimize processes and tooling.
  • Utilize ERP, SPC, and related systems for engineering, scheduling, and shipments.
  • Provide technical support to Sales and cross-functional teams.
  • Train and mentor technicians based on expertise.
  • Maintain compliance with quality systems and documentation standards.

Job Title: Senior Engineering Technician - Catheters
Location: Fridley, MN
Pay: $32-$38/hour
Duration: Direct Hire
Job Function Summary:

The Senior Engineering Technician-Catheters provides advanced technical and engineering support to cross-functional teams responsible for the development, characterization, commercialization, and sustainment of new technology platforms and manufacturing processes.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert for equipment, tooling, and manufacturing process setup, including preparation for long-term and scalable manufacturing.
  • Develop, draft, and maintain manufacturing and process documentation, including work instructions, setup sheets, certification checklists, visual aids, and related materials.
  • Establish, document, and control process windows, process controls, and key operating parameters.
  • Apply creative problem-solving skills to analyze root cause, understand cause-and-effect relationships, and implement effective solutions in a timely manner.
  • Support the transition of new products and technologies from development into production, including training and coaching manufacturing personnel.
  • Provide ongoing engineering and manufacturing support to optimize processes, tooling, and production performance through controlled and documented process changes.
  • Utilize ERP, SPC, and related systems to support engineering activities, manufacturing coordination, scheduling, and shipment responsibilities.
  • Provide technical support to Sales, Customer, and cross-functional teams as requested.
  • Train and mentor technicians and other team members based on demonstrated expertise and experience.
  • Maintain compliance with established quality systems, process change procedures, and documentation standards.
Education and Required Skills:
  • High school diploma or GED required; 2-year technical degree strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in engineering, manufacturing or process development environment.
  • Experience with catheter assembly, braiding, reflow, tipping, and inspection.
  • Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment, preferably medical device or OEM manufacturing.
  • Experience with ERP, SPC, and manufacturing documentation systems.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting complex projects through commercialization.
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple technical priorities.
  • Demonstrated commitment to supporting positive customer and stakeholder experiences.
