Join BD as a Senior Manufacturing Technician in the Rubber Department! You will report directly to Engineering and indirectly to the Production Supervisor. Your role involves providing technical support, primarily electrical, to production operations. Responsibilities include setting up, adjusting, troubleshooting, and maintaining all departmental production equipment. You will oversee production, quality, downtime, and waste levels of machine operation. A positive attitude and excellent team skills are essential. You will also be responsible for leading process performance issues.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Sets up, troubleshoots, and maintains all electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic production equipment.
2. Performs preventive maintenance on equipment as specified in the Plant Preventative Maintenance (PM) Program or as required to ensure smooth operation.
3. Assists in the installation, debugging, and start-up of new production equipment.
4. Maintains equipment logs for each piece of equipment, recording downtime and maintenance issues.
5. Uses Programmable Logic Controllers to troubleshoot, debug, and test production equipment. Makes programming changes as needed and documents them under the guidance of Engineering staff.
6. Follows all safety, environmental procedures, and Quality System Requirements (QSR).
7. Adheres to applicable specifications, plant policies, and departmental procedures.
8. Develops troubleshooting skills to maintain a variety of equipment.
9. Gains working knowledge of Plant Maintenance Software, SAP, and maintains PM documentation for assigned areas.

REQUIREMENTS:

1. High School Diploma or GED required.
2. Associate’s degree in “Advanced Mechatronics” or a similar field required.
3. Minimum of 2 years' experience in a lead technical or similar role preferred.
4. Experience in an industrial manufacturing environment desired.
5. Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
6. Availability to work an 8 pm - 8 am shift on a 3-2-2-3 schedule.
7. Skills in hydraulic, pneumatic systems, and understanding of electrical and electronic principles.
8. Ability to pass a practical technical assessment.
9. Participation in a basic electronics exam and interviews with HR, supervisors, and engineering staff.
