Job Opportunity: Senior Manufacturing Technician at Bolt Medical

Bolt Medical is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Technician in Carlsbad, CA. This role supports engineering development, validation activities, and production support for developing therapeutic medical devices. Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and ask critical questions, even without being a subject matter expert.
• Collaborate with Engineering to ensure processes and designs are manufacturable.
• Design manufacturing processes, procedures, and layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, and material handling.
• Design fixtures, including mechanical design, tolerance analysis, and material selection.
• Organize equipment and spare parts inventory.
• Maintain equipment documentation, including manuals.
• Author IQ protocols and reports.
• Participate in process improvement projects to enhance product quality, reduce rework and scrap, decrease costs, and improve performance.
• Identify and troubleshoot process-related issues and implement corrective actions.
• Provide hands-on process understanding, guidance, and training to operators.
• Support daily production to ensure timely delivery of quality products.
• Assist in scaling up equipment and processes from prototypes to full-scale manufacturing.
• Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment.

Qualifications:

Required Experience:

• At least 3+ years of operating EDM or CNC mill/lathe.
• Experience in fixture and tooling design to support manufacturing needs and process improvements.
• Manufacturing or sustaining experience.
• Medical device experience is a plus.
