Job summary

Northrop Grumman Corp. in Elkton, MD is seeking a Staff Manufacturing Systems Engineer to lead manufacturing systems activities supporting long range strategic plans for munitions production, facility upgrades, and site expansions.

You will define requirements, coordinate with Facilities Engineering, and oversee integration from concept through full-rate production in a complex, production‑intensive environment.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 12 years of experience plus a bachelors degree in STEM.
• Masters degree with 10+ years or PhD with 8+ years also acceptable.
• Ability to obtain Secret Clearance; US citizenship required.
• Experience leading manufacturing systems improvements across multiple MRL phases.
• Experience with facilities integration and production cell/line layout.

Responsibilities

• Lead manufacturing systems engineering activities for strategic initiatives.
• Define facility requirements (power, HVAC, gases, controls) for new/expanded production cells.
• Coordinate with Facilities Engineering for design reviews and readiness.
• Manage cost, schedule, and technical risk across projects.
• Drive continuous improvement in system performance and capacity.
