Job summary

Lennox is seeking a Factory Safety Engineer to lead and support health, safety, environmental, and ergonomics programs at our manufacturing facility in the United States. The role partners with operations, maintenance, engineering, and leadership to ensure a proactive safety culture and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 8+ years of experience in industrial safety, with CSP certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE), Engineering, or a related field required.
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in health, safety, environmental, and/or industrial safety within a manufacturing or industrial environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain health, safety, environmental, and ergonomics programs for the manufacturing facility.
• Monitor safety performance metrics and recommend corrective and preventive actions to drive continuous improvement.
• Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, ergonomic evaluations, and incident investigations to identify hazards and reduce workplace risks.
• Partner with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams to ensure HSE compliance and safe work practices.
• Develop and maintain environmental, health, and safety policies, procedures, training materials, and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations (OSHA, EPA).
• Stay current on changes in HSE laws and communicate impacts to facility leadership.
• Lead or support employee safety training programs and promote accountability in safety.
• Recommend and implement innovative solutions to improve safety, ergonomics, and environmental performance.
• Support emergency response planning, incident management, and corrective action follow-up.
• Provide guidance to supervisors and employees regarding HSE matters.
• May mentor other HSE professionals or site safety representatives.
