Lockheed Martin is seeking an experienced automation engineer to design and optimize manufacturing processes, tooling, and layouts with robotic and electromechanical systems. You will participate in design, testing, modification, fabrication and assembly across the life cycle of automated equipment.

The role demands a BS in a technical field and 3+ years in manufacturing, with the ability to independently solve complex problems and influence long-term objectives.

• BS 4 year technical degree.
• 3+ years experience in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Designs manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts utilizing automation to maximize quality and efficiency.
• Supports design, testing, modification, fabrication and assembly of manufacturing tools and electromechanical systems including robots, conveyors, vision systems and programmable controllers.
• Over the life cycle of automated processes and equipment from design to maintenance and upgrades; stay informed on new automation developments for continuous improvement.
• Provide guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and techniques.
• Ensure processes and procedures comply with regulations.
